We have two Nursery classrooms and a separate cot room that caters for children aged 6 months to 2 years. These classrooms are located on the ground level of our centre, next to the reception and foyer.
Nursery Education & Care Programs
Children in our Nursery classrooms are provided with a supportive and warm environment where they will receive nurture and care from our experienced educators. The Nursery program supports the daily needs and routines of the children including toileting, nappy changing, toilet training (when ready) feeding, sleeping and achieving developmental milestones. During these early years, we understand the importance of individualised routines and ensuring consistency between home and our childcare environment. Before your child’s enrolment commences, you will have the opportunity to have a one on one meeting with your child’s primary educator to share information about your child. Eg home routines, likes, dislikes, comfort toys etc.
In our Nursery classrooms, we offer wonderful child interest lead experiences to support play based learning and activities which will promote and nurture your child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, assisting in reaching milestones.
At this young age, we ensure our program has a focus on supporting each child’s development through sensory experiences. Children in our Nursery classrooms will be able to explore through their five senses, discovering their environment in a safe and supportive space. We aim to encourage and support the children to become confident and individual learners before transitioning to our Pre Kindergarten Classroom.
Our Nursery environment allows for supervised tummy time for infants and mat play for babies, our educators will assist your child with developing and meeting their milestones including crawling and walking at their own time and pace.
We have a focus on social and emotional relationships. Through consistency of our staffing arrangements, your child will develop a safe and secure relationship with their educators, building a sense of belonging within our EEL community. Within this age group, we respect the importance of forming these relationships to assist in ensuring trust, emotional stability for your child’s development.
Nursery Environment
Our Nursery classrooms are designed to provide a nurturing, calm, safe and secure environment with ample space so each child can learn, grow, and develop. We understand that each child will have varied developmental needs and at EEL we are proud to be able to provide flexible environments to support and encourage individualised development.
Our outdoor area has been intentionally designed to promote infant physical and sensory development. Both Nursery classrooms have easy access to their shared outdoor environment, with a large undercover area to ensure sun safety at all times.
