Montessori Inspired Pre Kindergarten
We have two Pre Kindergarten classrooms catering for children aged 2-3 years. Our Pre Kindergarten classrooms are where the Montessori inspired learning begins. These classrooms are located on the second level of our centre and can be accessed via the staircase or lift.
Learning and Development
Our educators and teachers are committed to the education and care of children in the early years and will develop individualised programs reflective of the five main areas of the Montessori Method as well as the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).
- Practical Life – Life skills to help develop independence, coordination, concentration, self-control, self-awareness and confidence
- Sensorial – Allows for the child to refine each of their senses
- Language – Based on phonetic awareness
- Mathematics – Developed using concrete, hands on learning materials
- Culture – Allows the child to explore the natural world around them
Our Montessori Inspired Pre Kindergarten program equips children with the skills necessary to be independent and confident learners.
We offer a range of stimulating and engaging experiences to foster the development of each child and design our programs based the following principles:
- Providing hands on, concrete experiences
- Allowing each child to identify when they have made a mistake and providing them with the tools to develop their problem solving skills.
- Providing increasingly challenging experiences
- Providing freedom of choice and the opportunity to have real-life experiences
- Learning within an aesthetically pleasing environment, where everything has it’s place to ensure consistency for the children.
- Educating the children to use and develop their social skills, patience, respect, and self-control
- Promoting concentration and enjoyment
- Offering each child the opportunity to participate in our Wellbeing Program where they will engage in experiences such as yoga, meditation, cooking and more!
Pre Kindergarten Environment
Our classrooms are designed to provide a safe, calm and rich environment for children ages 2-3 years. Each classroom routine allows for a balance between indoor and outdoor exploration and learning. As we are a purpose built centre, these spaces are designed with the children in mind and to ensure their imaginations, interests, exploration and abilities are supported at all times.
Our indoor classrooms are designed to support individual and group learning through both the Montessori Method and Play Based Learning.
Each classroom opens out to their own age appropriate garden, allowing for easy indoor/outdoor access for all children. Our outdoor environments are designed to encourage children to engage in spontaneous play and structured activities in a safe place. The outdoor gardens will promote and foster children’s interests, imagination, physical development, nature, gardening and other sustainable practices.
Pre Kindergarten Educators
Our educators and teachers are passionate, experienced and committed to the education and care of each child. Our Primary Educators hold a minimum of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. All EEL educators have completed training in Montessori education and are provided with ongoing support and professional development.
